Tropical dream - Jamaica

Jamaica is an island and state in the Caribbean Sea in the Greater Antilles archipelago, located south of Cuba and west of Haiti. Most of the main island rises more than 300 meters above sea level, but the highest peak is 2,256 meters. Most of the island is covered with white limestone and numerous caves testify to the ocean origin of the islands on which Jamaica is located. Jamaica's national motto is "One of many nations." This thought arose from the fact that the present inhabitants of this country have distant ancestors among Europeans, Arabs, Africans and among Indians and Asians. It is not surprising then, that although the official language is english in which tourists can easily function on the islands, however you can speak spanish, portuguese, arabic and even mandarin with some of the inhabitants.

Jamaicans are extremely tolerant. The believers of many religions live in harmony on the islands. Most of them are of the protestant, it is estimated that they are up to 50% of the population. Over 20% of Jamaicans are pentecostals. You can also meet the believers of the Anglican Church and Methodists here. There are relatively small group of catholics, only about 2%. They all respect each other and there have never been any religious conflicts, as is the case in other parts of the world.

Interestingly, Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world, comes from Jamaica, however cricket is the country's national sport. Another famous man was born in Jamaica - Bob Marley, the parent of his birthday is a national holiday in this country, and the hit "One Love" sung by this reggae legend is Jamaica's unofficial national anthem.
